Meet Amy

Amy Bishop, RYT500

I first came to the mat in 2017 in the Kansas City area after my mother's passing.  I had just been diagnosed with a similar health issue my mother had passed away from.  I was in a very low, dark place and yoga helped me add movement back to my life, allowed me to listen to my body more closely and helped my mood.  I started with videos and then moved to classes at the YMCA.  I fell in love and had found my new passion; I wanted to share what yoga had done for me with others.  I completed my 200 hour teacher training in June of 2020 and my 300 teacher training in August of 2021.  I moved to Charleston, South Carolina in May 2021 and started teaching at Yoga Den and Core Studio in August 2021.  I currently teach three classes two days a week at a 55+ community as well as have private clients.  In addition to yoga, I am a Reiki Master and love bringing the healing energy of Reiki to my yoga classes.  Meditation and breathwork have helped me with my anxiety and stress and love teaching others how to incorporate these into their everyday life.  I am passionate about helping people in the second part of life maintain strength and balance through accessible yoga so they can live the life they enjoy!  Off the mat, I enjoy being a wife and a mother of a teenager daughter.
